I don’t mind flying, but I usually don’t have very good travelers’ luck. You’d think, having traveled all my life, I’d figure out a way to beat the system. More often than not, I get pulled over in the security line. (Even though I cleaned out the 7 tubes of lip gloss and $48 of change from the bottom of my purse this morning, I guess a blonde with a leopard print suitcase just looks suspicious.) And somehow, the kicking, screaming toddler and the stressed-out, screaming parent always find their way to the seats right behind me.

But today, I scored an aisle seat in the back of a near-empty plane headed to Albuquerque. I nodded hello to my neighbor and pulled out my iPod. I smiled to myself at what a nice flight this would be. I had no idea just how good it was going to get.

A few minutes before landing, the man next to me gestured toward my family and said, “So are you all traveling together for business?” I answered that we sang Christian music together and were singing at a conference this week. He asked our group name, and when I told him, he started laughing.

He said, “You’re not going to believe this, but your family stayed in my home about twenty years ago.” He explained that he was a worship pastor in Texas and the Talleys had sung at his church in the 1980’s. After connecting all the dots, he said, “So what’s God up to in your life these days?”

I shared with him how the Lord has changed my life and what God has led me to do through the new book, music and website, and about our Songs In The Night Power Study. I told him about the scores of new friends I’m making and how we’re all learning that God loves and uses broken people and He wants to give us hope to live a victorious life. He described his own heart for ministry and how he wants to see people hunger and thirst for God in a new way.

I was on the aisle, and my friend was next to me, but God was in the middle of the plane today. (Who knew that God flies coach?!) My seat mate asked if we could pray before we landed, and he proceeded to pray God’s blessing and protection over me and my family and our ministries. He specifically prayed that this ministry would “take off!” It gave me such a charge to keep going and telling broken people there’s hope.

God always knows how to reach you. He always has a watchful eye on you. He never sleeps on airplanes. A divine encounter with God is just around the corner if you’re prepared for takeoff!

The Songs In The Night Power Study is only 3 weeks away! I’m really getting excited about what we’re going to learn together. I’ve talked to so many who were at the Extra Mile conference and want to continue their study further. It really motivates me to dig deeper in my own study when I hear what you’re hoping to receive. I need it just as much as you do and that’s why I want to be involved in the discussion WITH you. It was a big thrill for me to get to teach from my new book and perform my new songs live…albeit a little scary! When you’ve never done those live, you don’t know what could happen But for me, the greatest part of the whole experience was hearing the life stories of the people who came and the testimonies of what they received from the Lord that day. We saw two people come to know the Lord last Saturday and many others told me how the Lord had begun a great work in their lives as well. Seeing lives transformed is truly what it’s all about and I’m even more inspired now to get this message to even more people so they can have the same experience.

POWER STUDY

If you attended my session at The Extra Mile Event, you experienced the power of group study. This was a New Beginning for me and the kind of ministry I intend to be adding into my life. I’m inviting you now add your own New Beginning to mine.

Join me for an 8 week study of how to overcome the bad things that happen in life through faith and biblical study. If you attended the Extra Mile, this is a way to follow up, continue and deepen; if you were one of those who asked me to make a DVD of the event, this is for you–the real thing, not just a copy, and much more. We’ll have weekly written lessons with “homework” AND I’ll be on the phone with you every week to talk through the lessons and how they relate to exactly where YOU you are in YOUR life.

Our discussion will be private, just among us. It will all happen here but in a special “members-only” area protected by your own personal password.

We’re gonna delve much deeper into the study. We’re gonna get really specific on how these things apply to your life, not just mine….

It’s going to be interactive, I’m gonna talk to you; you’re gonna talk to me; it’s going to be really powerful….

We’re gonna be talking about how to move past painful circumstance and what to do when God’s will for your life takes a detour. We’re gonna talk about praying for something for a long time and never seeing results. We’re gonna talk about a lot of things that knock us down and how we can be picked back up.
