The Extra Mile: Lauren
The day began with Debra starting the event in prayer. After a song by the Talley Trio and a song by Lauren, Lauren began her session. She shared the story that gave birth to the Songs in the Night book and CD.
About two years ago, she went through an illness that had her largely confined to her bed or the couch for about three months. During that time, she sought God as to why she had to go through that trial. The book draws from the Bible study she did during those months; the CD is of the songs that carried her through that time. During this session, she shared the first Bible study from the book, on Psalm 77.
As I write this, she is finishing up the session by singing “Songs in the Night” and “The Extra Mile.”
For those of you who can’t be here, a video camera crew is catching this on tape so we can watch it online some time in the near future.
Also, the promised special announcement isĀ here.

Hi Lauren,
I was not present physically for the grand event but I did pray for it. I do look forward to the clipping which the crew is coming up with.
Hi Lauren
I would to have been at your big event, however we are holidays in Florida. I would like to hear your story and listen to your new CD.
Ralph
Hello – The event was wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing your story. The new CD is fabulous and anyone who has ever been through a trial (which is pretty much everyone) can relate to the music. This was a very encouraging event for us. I know it took a lot of courage for you and your Mom to share personal struggles. I’m looking forward to reading your book! Thanks again! Sherri
Hi Lauren,

It was so awesome to be there & it was such a pleasure to talk with you & your family & all the people that work with you. To see the faces with the name
I started reading your book on the 2nd flight home I only got to page 19 & had to take a nap. The study was AWESOME, You would never know that was your 1st time doing a study like that. I was so happy you did some songs from the Surrender CD. I met so many wonderful people there. One couple was kind enough to take me out to dinner with them & we shared with eachother how God was working in our lives.
Afterward as I should have been packing, I was on the phone with my niece talking sharing with her about the whole day. Midnight as I was heading back to my room I ran into a couple of ladies on the Hotel balcony (probably out there for a good hour) sharing our experiences we had with the Extra Mile. I hated to go in but I had to leave for the Airport @ 3:30 a.m.
The concerts were awesome, the whole day was just so worth ‘The Extra Mile’
I am so looking forward to the 8 week Power Study course
Had a wonderful time being there in person. March 20th is a day I will always remember fondly. Thanks for making me feel welcome-sorry I was to shy to say hello to you Lauren in person but I got to speak to your mom-Debra. Even got my picture taken with your dad-Roger. You truly are blessed with two loving & wonderful parents.
God Bless,
Ron
Ron – I enjoyed meeting you!
