The Extra Mile: Debra
Debra is wrapping up her session. She has had everyone alternating between laughing and crying the whole time. She started sharing her feelings of inadequacy from her childhood on, and what she has done to break the generational curse of passing on inadequacy.
She will also be starting a class, The Confidence Class. We’ll have more information on that shortly.
There is a Lauren Talley solo concert and a Talley Trio group concert coming this evening, but due to a long drive afterwards I probably won’t be able to post much about it.

Confidence class also sounds like a good idea.
well..I just pressed reply & I think my mssg disappeared! So, I hope I’m not on here twice! What a wonderful time yesterday w/yall. Lauren, I know God has opened a new door & is gonna use you in a big way to touch others. Now, w/your heart & w/your singing! Thanks for being real. And, Debra, I love hearing you talk! You are so right about what we hear about ourselves can sure stick! I heard somewhere said that it takes saying something positive 17 x to replace just 1 negative comment…& that may be right…not the 17…but that it takes much positive talk to replace the wounds of the bad..God’s using you much! I enjoyed Roger playing after lunch. Had to scoot out a minute during “His Name is Wonderful” cause my dad sang that a lot & he went to be w/Jesus in Oct. But, that is ok…just miss my dad…Singing w/you felt like home….thanks so much! God bless you sweet family..I pray for yall lots…bout every morning cause yall go to work w/me in my car everyday! Oh…& Lauren…thanks for your encouraging hug for my book! All I can think is “yikes”, but that is ok…just walking w/Him doing what He says! Even if this does seem crazy! Love you all …..See yall soon!
Hi Debra – Thanks so much for sharing – you were HONEST – I appreciate that so much. I know it was hard. Thanks for stepping out in faith to share something that was difficult to discuss. My friends and I had a wonderful time this weekend. Love your music and enjoyed all of the singing as well. God Bless! Sherri
Sherri,
Thanks so much for being there with us on Sat. It’s often hard to say personal things, but over the years I’ve found that being open and honest not only helps others but it helps us to heal. Thanks for the encouragement. I pray you and your friends will be with us again.
Dear Trio
Hope to see you in May… keep up your desire to service in God’s Kingdom.

Hello Lauren & the Talley Trio,
We just arrived home in Wisconsin from The Extra Mile Conference and we both want to say, WOW!!! I am full time caregiver for my mother who had a stroke in 2008. I’ll try to give you the condensed version. It has been a difficult journey – traveling back and forth to Michigan to take care of her needs for as long as I could and then as we approached a 2nd winter, and we didn’t feel she was in a safe environment at an assisted living home in MI, we decided we needed to move her in with us in WI in October last year. When I learned about the conference through an email, I asked my Aunt if we could bring mom there for a visit and attend the conference. She said yes so on Wednesday I drove mom to her house in MI (320 mi) and on Thursday I drove back to WI (320 mi) and then we left at 3am on Friday for Pigeon Forge (720 miles). We were so blessed!!! It was worth every single “EXTRA MILE” to get there and spend Saturday with you all! Lauren, you did a fantastic job on your first “speaking” engagement. I am sure the Lord will use you more in this way. Debra, I appreciated you sharing the things you endured as a child that made you feel inadequate for so many years. Glory be to Jesus for bringing you “THROUGH” that to a place of victory. The music lifted both Ronnie & me to heaven and into the presence of Jesus… the comforter, almighty God… “in Christ Alone”. I know I cried a lot, but there was a lot for me (Sue) to surrender. thank you, thank you, thank you. We also enjoyed “Voices of Mercy” (I think that was their name). They did a wonderful ministry as well. It was really cool the way God put all 3 components together. As far as improvements, I did like the comment about the tissues being included in the registration pack. I used almost the whole box from our hotel room! There was a great mixture of laughter and tears – both very healing. The combination of Holy Ghost powered speaking and singing was a wonderful blessing to both of us. We also noticed that the hotel didn’t list the time for your concert on their marquis. Anyway, thank you again for all of the time and energy you put in to preparing for this day. God bless you. Ronnie & Susie
Debra,
It’s so cool when God puts people in your path that have been through such similar situations. ESPECIALLY when they are equip with the tools of how to break the cycle!!! So much for saying ‘nobody knows what it’s like’
THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing with everyone about dealing with Inadequacies & confidence. It was shocking how much I could relate to what you were sharing… I love how the comic relief would enter in so that we were not constantly sobbing in there
I’m surely going to be signing up for that one & I already have 1 person for sure who’s going to do it with me. I knew that God was going to show me something that I just needed to learn. Through out THE WHOLE DAY I was thinking Oh that’s why God wanted me here.. The Extra Mile (which I took literally) was certainly worth the trip! I filled out the share your story form on the 1st flight home & started reading Laurens book on the connected flight. The whole day was awesome!
Thank You again!!
just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the Extra Mile Event. It was so uplifting and a wonderful way to start spring-a new beginning is much needed both in the weather department AND my life! Thanks for being such a good friend. I appreciate your prayers and support.
Such a special day it was and happy I made the long trek there.
God Bless,
Ron
Well, it’s been a week ago today and I still feel as tho I am ‘basking in the afterglow’ of last week’ s “Extra Mile” Event. I have played Lauren’s CD all week (and the DVD’s I purchased) and have finished reading the book! I have had several opportunities to share excerpts from the book this week as well as share what Rachel (my daughter) and I experienced at the event. Thank you Lauren and your precious family and sweet friends who made the day what it was…..a day that brought encouragement to my life and a day that will long be remembered. Hopefully this will be planned as an annual event…..
I believe there is a tremendous need to hear the message from both Lauren and her mother, Debra. We are living in a hurting world…. Love you all and are praying for your ministries.
