Hey y’all,
The Extra Mile conference is almost here!! I’m getting more and more excited by the day. I know it’s going to be a life-changing event for all of us. I get emails and comments every day from people who are coming and they all say how excited they are. We want to make it the best experience possible for all of you, because this day is not just about seminars or concerts. It’s an investment in YOU, and a new beginning spiritually for all of us! I know many of you will not be able to attend, but rest assured we are working on something very special for you as well…just stay tuned. But right now, for all of you whom I’m going to see on March 20, I want to know:
What made you decide to come and what you do hope to get out of the day? What do you want to learn or receive and how can we help you best? Talk to me, Team!
What made us decide to come? We’ve been Talley fans for a long time, but have been unable to attend concerts for a while, so we’re looking forward to hearing some good singing. Also, Debra’s testimony and words of encouragement have always been an inspiration. We’re eager to hear a lot of that. There’s nothing specific we’re expecting to learn, but we know that a day with the Talleys will be encouraging and spiritually rewarding.

How soon after the Extra Mile event can some like me who is not able to attend buy the CD, book, etc? Also, a while back I purchased a couple of the Talley song books that you just came out with and I gave one to our music leader at church, who is also part of our men’s quartet, and he decided to pick one of your songs, His Life For Mine for our Good Friday service. I’m really excited, I get to play one of your songs for the first time!! I’ll try not to make to many mistakes.

I jumped at the chance to attend because, honestly, I see something in you that I desperately need in my life. I seem to have run amuck and lost my inspiration, my passion, for living. I am barely surviving spiritually, physically, and emotionally. I get recharged and refocused by your music so I knew the Event would just be a double portion of what I get from your CDs. I want to hear about your walk with God, Lauren, what He has shown you that has made you who you are. Your youth and the conviction and authority with which you speak and sing is very powerful and life changing so I’d really love to hear what you have to say. I am eager to hear about your walk, Lauren, what you say in your book, and what is in store for your ministry. Although it may not be the right forum, I would love to hear your mom share how they have accomplished so much in parenting and bringing you up. They have guidance from which I as a parent could benefit in my son’s life, mainly, insights on “building temples” as they have with you. And of course, I’m attending for the sining, books, and CDs, and a chance to experience seeing and hearing all of you again. It gives people who really believe in and pray for you confirmation and encouragement. I would also really appreciate the invitation to be saved as I’m bringing someone who desperately needs the opportunity to accept Him. I just need to be inspired and directed in my life. Meeting y’all did that on a smaller scale so I’m hoping to be revitalized and “plugged back in” at the Event. I’m praying for y’all and will see you next weekend!!!
Wow! Martha, dear lady. this is powerful stuff!; really moving. i can feel a tear back in there, pushing to get out ~ i loved your admissions of needing more direction in life and your mini-testimony! like you, thru listening and enjoying the Talleys, i get the same recharged and refocused emotions. yes, like yourself, so many of us experience similar feelings and needs for an increased relationship with the Lord. So, in a way, you spoke for many! and now, next weekend, the Talleys will help bring that to us. like prayer, it will be like we have another direct laison to God. may GOD Bless you Martha, and may God bless the Talleys for their positive impact on peoples’ lives!

I am coming because I believe you and your family are some of the few remaining musicians who are truly committed 100% to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. So many I read about today in Gospel Music get their inspiration from worldy entertainers but all I have ever witnessed from all of you is a true walk with Him. I want to read and hear about how He helped you through some tough times in your book and I always enjoy hearing your mom speak no matter what she chooses for a subject.
I need revival in my heart for ministry as I am in a discouraging time right now in several areas in which I serve (church library , church pianist and VBS). At present time our church lacks leadership and unity and its hard sometimes to keep my eyes on Jesus and not on my circumstances. Anything you all do I know God will make it applicable to my heart and my situation! So looking forward to it……..!

I will not be able to attend,..well, i live in Canada, Ontario,..i wish i could be there. But i know this,..that Jesus Christ is the only WAY, TRUTH and LIFE,..no one comes unto the Father,..but by him. He is the only one that can change a person,..inside out,..he is the only hope in this cruel world,..and finally,..every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is LORD of LORDS and KING of KINGS. I pray Lauren that this conference will touch lives, change lives, and heal lives,..may there be a revival!!! AMEN! God Bless!!
My family and I have been following the Talleys for years. We have always been blessed by your ministry. My two sisters, neice, mom and myself are all coming to the event. The one thing I expect to get from this event is encouragement. A time to clear our minds from all the bad stuff in the world and just focus on Jesus. To get a renewed sprirt and heart and just bathe in the Word of God. My twin sister just recently had a tumor removed from her brain and Praise the Lord she is just fine now!!! This will give us a chance to have some “girl time” with each other. We are looking forward to seeing you and thank you for going the “Extra Mile” for all of us. May God bless you.
I wish I could attend! From the first time I heard about this gathering I’ve felt that it is exactly what I need for this stage in my life. I’m at a crossroads right now both career wise and life wise. I can’t afford to attend as I’ve been unemployed for months now. Just listening to “Songs in the Night” really addresses what I’m going through and I know God will truly speak to those attending thanks to your help Lauren. I’ve also been trying to remind myself that “the God on the Mountain is still God in the valley.” Bless your ministry and I’m sure you will have a truly inspiring weekend not only for those attending, but for you, Debra and Roger. Having traveled the midwest and meeting you and your family when I was able to afford to, I know your family is truly dedicated to sharing God’s awesome word.
Hey Lauren. Unfortunately I won’t be able to attend. But I know someday I’ll be able to be as inspired and moved in person as I am by listening to your music, and reading your testimonies. I know God led me to the Talleys for a reason. And I know in time I’ll find out what that reason is. I have been thinking about this all night! what do I want from this experience? at first it was a chance to see all of you,and have a few days away from home! but now I feel like I’m winding down so low that its hard to get moving each day.I’m so worn out emotionally, spiritually its been a long time since I can remember being happy! I miss that. I know the joy I get when I’m around ya’ll and your songs lift my heart.I want to learn how to get that joy back,how to really read his word,and not let stress take over my life.its not the way its ment to be!

hey Lauren, I’m coming b/c of love your family. And, jumped at the chance to hear you & your mom talk, not just sing. Excited to read your book, too. Hoped I could talk w/yall about where I’m trying to go w/my book, too. Mine is tiny & I sometimes wish God would let this rest, but I know in my heart He wants me to move forward w/it. And, I feel like Moses. Such a far fetched idea. Guess I just wanted yalls opinion or maybe even encouragement in saying I’m not crazy. But, I guess even if you said I was nuts, I’d still do it cause I know the Lord said to. I admire & respect yall much. And, I figure it’s not always easy to kindof expose ourselves thru writing, but if it helps others, then that is good. Anyway,
I’m just wanting to rest in the Spirit while I am there. And, I know He will be there all day & I just look forward to hearing my favorite family for a whole day! Nothing could be better! See you next week! Can’t wait. I’m praying for yall much!

Your message and music have really helped me a lot in my life. You have helped give me more confidence in myself that I am worthwhile after what happened to me. I know it is a long drive(14 hours or so) for me from Massachusetts but when I first heard about this something inside of me said I had to and wanted to go. So I am. Just listening to you talk and your mom will be really inspiring for me. Also, hearing you sing alone and with your parents Debra & Roger that makes my long commute worth it. I know I will learn a lot from this and will cherish my special day on the 20th. Lauren you have been giving a gift and I am glad to see you are using it like you are. Please continue your ministry. Also, in lifes ups and downs always know you are someone special. Thanks friend and take care always.

I loved how you referred to the day as YOUR special day. That’s how I want each of you to think of March 20. It’s not just a project premiere or seminar or concert. It is a day for YOU to begin anew in your walk with God, and I pray it’s a life changing day for everyone!

Lauren, do you know why i (my wife and i) made the decision to come to Pigeon Forge? like i said in an earlier post, a real wretch like me came back to the Lord directly because of seeing/hearing the Talleys perform on 2 consecutive weekends back in November. the Holy Spirit was talking to me after the first night; then, your mother Debra, led me thru the sinners prayer on the 2nd night, and i came home to the Lord. you see, the 2nd weekend was a last-minute miracle schedule change which put your concert only 30 minutes from home. i knew i had to be there. like our minister says: this was a God thing.
anyway, after meeting your family, i was struck by just how personable you all are. with all the pressures of being constantly on the road and testifying for the Lord to the masses, you still had time to talk to me. after that, i knew i wanted some of what you folks had. while typing this, i listened (on YouTube) to “Orphans of God”, “His Life for Mine”, “the Broken Ones”, and other Talley Trio power songs. all of these are sung with tremendous passion and emotion, and they lift my heart and soul like no lockerroom peptalk ever did. if you guys can minister to me like that, then your seminars will pack the same Talley punch as your music!
i want to learn more about cultivating a personal relationship with God, and dealing more easily with everyday pressures; much like i imagine your family does, while on the road so much. and understanding the fact that you all are simply sinners like me, but yet, with the Lord’s help, you have risen up and can minister to us, your fans and admirers, is an absolute inspiration. i am coming to PF, because i want more.

If you’re expecting more from the Lord, then that’s what you’ll get! I think we miss out on a lot of insights and blessings because we aren’t actively pursuing them. That’s what this weekend will be all about…digging deeper in the Word and learning how to go farther in our Christian lives. Looking forward to seeing you!

After hearing you talk..and sing on new Years Eve, I knew this would be the event for my daughter Briana and me. I went through a really difficult divorce and my daughter has been struggling with a lot of issues that probably relate to that. The past couple of years were tough for both of us..me with major foot reconstructive surgery with a 7 month recovery and unemployment after. I am dealing with depression and I know you have been there.
My daughter Briana (25) has made giant steps in the last several weeks to get her life back on track with her Savior..she has seen how the world is not providing her needs and has returned to Jesus filling her needs and she has been much happier. I think this event will hope both of us in this area
I am so happy you and Briana are coming. I hope it is the start of wonderful things in both of your lives. I will look forward to meeting you both on Saturday!
BTW..how many are registered for this event?
The last I heard, there were approximately 110 people registered for the full day of events. The night concerts will be open to the public as well. We are thrilled at that number and especially the depth of response from people. There are lots of people like yourself and Briana who are looking for encouragement that day and we will do our best to make it a great day for you. Also, I think it will be great for you to be able to meet others like yourselves…you guys can be an excellent source of support for each other.
i love reading all the messages in here, and your replies, Lauren. so many people have needs and issues; and you always manage to answer in an appropriate manner. are you sure your alias isnt Ann Landers? your mother will know that name, in case you arent familiar with her from the social section of the newspapers. hehe ….
anyway, Lauren, you might be concerned, but, i’m telling you, dont worry about even the smallest detail! You have God on your side. this weekend is going to go soooo well! i can just feel it!
sometimes the best discussions and seminars are the ones where the leader has an agenda, but is flexible enough to pick her spots and allow certain tangents to go off in whatever directions they need to go. and with the Holy Spirit as your guide, and the Lord in your heart, YOU CANT MISS, GIRL!! both Christian people and nonbelievers too, can come together for learning, fellowship, and perhaps even a glimpse of Heaven; Talley Trio style!

Wow it’s almost here! Now that I have a minute (as I’m sitting in the airport waiting on my delayed flight) to respond to the following questions…
What made you decide to come: I seriously stated thinking about it on New Years Eve during a text conversation with my niece.
She introduced me to the Talley Trio & your solo music a few years ago. I saw you & your family for the 1st time this past fall… So she & I were having a text conversation looking for upcoming Southern Gospel concerts in our area. Unfortunately their schedule would not allow them to come with me & after a couple of weeks… I realized I need to go. I don’t know why (I’m sure I’ll find out) I just feel God wanted me to go… so far be it from me to say no to going away for the week end.
What do you hope to get out of the day? I simply felt led that I needed this… I love your music & spoke with you about your book & the enthusiasm you had about it… I wanna hear all about it 1st hand!

Lauren, I attended your Extra Mile Conference on Saturaday, March 21. I have never been so moved in a conference, Bible Study, or Sunday sermon. I bought two books that day to share with friends that God put on my heart. I have two people who due to physical reasons cannot read your book. The guy who does all of your media “things” said that I could go on line and down load you reading the book. I cannot find where I can do this. I would like to do this as soon as you tell me what to do.
