Working On Recording My Audiobook
Here I’m in the studio recording the audio version of my book Songs In The Night. What you are about to see will be the Introduction for the book. The book will be included (along with the mucic CD) in the ticket price for The Extra Mile event, where I will also be teaching from the book as well as performing the new CD.

AWESOME! So there will be an audio book as well?! It takes me for ever to read & I can absorb a whole lot more when accompanied with audio… Can’t wait… It’s also great when the person who wrote the book does the audio too
Since you mentioned it, having a pizza while listening sounds like a great idea.
Go Team
Barbara
Make mine cheese.
This sounds wonderful. Thank-you for sharing with us.
The difficulties of life can make us bitter … or better. You chose better ! I am glad I am on your team ! Go Team !
You are nailing it. We rarely learn anything from successes…failures, trials, and struggles strengthen us. They teach us. They tear the cells of our character so that those spiritual muscles can reproduce and grow.
Thank you for sharing. May God give you fruit beyond your wildest imaginations.
THANK YOU Lauren for this project. It sounds so very encouraging!
May God Continue to Bless Your Ministry,
Gerry
Lauren! Wow that was a great intro! Your’re my kind of girl! Watching a game and eating pizza! Although, I do enjoy hiking and eating granola. I can’t wait until the entire project is done. I wish I was able to come to the “opening” but it is not easy for me to take time off with me starting a new job next week. Keep up the good work!
Well I like granola bars with chocolate chips in them.
Keep in mind, The Extra Mile is on a Saturday (March 20) so hopefully that will make it a little easier on everyone’s work schedule. Hope you can make it!
I am gald that you decided to make a audio book it helps out when i work at night I have something to listen to. Thanks and God bless
This is great Lauren,..i know this book will be a blessing to all who read it(listen to it). Like i said it before, and as Christians we cannot emphasize it enough,..when we are in his will,..he will bless us. Now as for pizza !,..Hawaiian!,..and it’s game time!!,..Go! Lauren Go!
Looks like you’re getting the hang of it. Keep up the good work. I look forward to reading your book.
Very gracious and a good idea, Lauren, to let us in on your recording session! Not only are we given a personal video tour into your mind regarding this project, but it also shows us a bit how it’s done. Shucks, maybe even a 64 yr-old guy like me could do something like that were God to call me to. I’m glad your “one of us” and I’d buy the pizza to share a Bible study with you any day…AND, btw, NOT just because you’re so pretty.
I’m sure we could learn from each other, you know, “iron sharpens iron.”
Lead on, pretty iron lady!
Iron…LOL
I’m sure not always an iron lady, but I do believe in what God says I’m supposed to do! Welcome aboard!
And I’d like to add something else…
You can absolutely do whatever God leads you to do. He never tells us to do something He hasn’t equipped us for. Age isn’t important; the Bible is full of people who were much older than 64 when God called them.
So go for it and tell us how it works out!
Well, thanks for the encouragement, Lauren. I KNOW there’s still work for me to do and I’m quite physically able…so far. (An old athlete ;o) ) However, sometimes it’s hard to make out what it is the Lord would have one do with the rest of his/her life at ANY age. Just have to pray earnestly and ask for wisdom and discernment. I believe He will ALWAYS give that when we seek it earnestly.
Go Team!! I love it!
Nice job! I am so glad to know that I am not the only one who requires more than one take to get something recorded. lol Thank you for the glimpse into the “nuts & bolts” of recording and into your heart. God Bless you & continue to use you to inspire others to know that we are all part of one body and can all learn from each other.
Looking forward to music school this summer & seeing you & your family again.
In His Service,
Kitt
I am one of those granola-eating, hiking, journal about what I see in nature kind of folks. i’ve always found great value in journaling about what God has laid on my heart. It is fascinating to read back and see the beautiful lessons God has taught me and the journey He has had me on. I’m glad you’ve found a love for it as well. I know your book will be classy, insightful, and a little sassy…just like you! Can’t wait to read it, Lauren!
Rereading my journals was a really great source of faith-building for me too…it was a great feeling to go back and see what God had done and how he had changed me. So glad you’re here with us…we will top your pizza with granola
AMAZING! Thank you Lauren Talley! Thank you so much for being obedient to God and writing those things down in a journal.
I’m excited about your new ministry. I’ll continue to lift you up in prayer as you journey along and as we journey along with God and you!
By the way, you are so cute on the video when you mess up! You’re a sweetheart!
Love in Christ,
Alicia Roark
The real question “how do you feel about Kiffin leaving The Vols”.
Ah yes, the $64,000 question! I can’t say I’m surprised or brokenhearted…Kiffin may do a great job at USC but I think UT is better off with somebody who respects their tradition and wants to be part of it. So goodbye Lane, we hardly knew ye.
(Personally, I think they should give Pat Summitt a visor and a copy of the playbook)
Sounds good…I’ll have to get it as soon as it comes out….Keep up the good work!
Lauren,
When will your product be avilable to the general public? Some of us live in the boonies and can’t make it to Pigeon Forge. I assume you’ll have them (audiobook, cd, book) available in your store, but will places like Amazon have them for sale as well?
All components of “Songs In The Night” will be available March 20 right here on http://www.laurentalleyonline.com. We don’t have any plans to release them elsewhere at this time.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us-you have come such a long way and matured into a true disciple to share God’s Word!
Songs In The Night (all versions) will be released officially during the week of March 15th.

Hey Lauren,
This sounds great. Love the intro. Can’t wait till it comes out to get my hands on it. Since I found out I had cancer a couple of months ago the Lord has shown me a lot of things, and done some miracles in relationships. I have had many people tell me I need to write everything down in a journal for all my kids. I have not done that. But you have now inspired me to do so. I will start my personal journal tomorrow. Thanks for your inspiration and your Love for the Lord. The joy of the Lord just flows off of you. Can’t wait to hear more on your book. Love you girl.
Seeking Him,
Michelle
Oh wow…a journal sounds like a great idea and I know your kids will appreciate that. It will also be great to look back after this trial is over and see what God did in the meantime.
I believe God can do anything, including heal cancer, and we will all be believing for God to touch you. He is your healer, provider and your strength…He never leaves us nor forsakes us. Please keep up updated on your progress- God bless you.
I just noticed ! most post are after one in the morning nobody goes to sleep around here? waite that me too!
love you lauren, hope to see you in tenn in march its under 300 miles from nc i’m so enjoying watching you and all that the Lord is leading you to do.

Lauren, { Just A Thought } Since most of us on your website seem to be ” Kindred Spirits ” ( People who share their beliefs, attitudes, and feelings with one another ), – even Jesus had an original team of 12 – instead of sayings Go Team, Let’s say ” Go Team Talley “.
Well…if it’s all the same to you, could we just keep the shorter one?
We’ve been working on something special with the shorter phrase, and besides, the team isn’t about me…Each person is just as important and we all represent Christ. So if it’s all right with you, I’ll say GO Team
That is fine with me.:) It was just a thought that came to me in the middle of the night ! There is no limit to how much good a team can do, if no one cares who gets the credit !
Lead On Lauren – GO TEAM !
Thanks for sharing that with us. God is so good to us to help us find ways to serve Him and connect with Him in our feeble attempts to glorify Him adequately. Journals provide us with great reflections of our experiences with God. It sounds like you have a big task on your hands with the recording. Hang in there and the Lord will bless you and others.
Lord willing, I look forward to hearing the Talley Trio in Ackerman later this month. May the Lord continue to bless you.
. . . I forgot to say one more thing. Thanks for being genuine and sharing your experiences of serving God with us.
Lauren, I’m so happy that you’re doing your own audio book! I’ll likely get the book for myself and the audio book for my hubby! He’s a trucker and lots of truck drivers are into audio books. They can listen and take in the book while driving down the highway! Thanks again Lauren.
Lauren, there are sooo many great entries of varied topics on all the posts in your website. (and you handled all of them with tremendous tact, btw) its just a pleasure to escape our secular world, by browsing around thru everybody’s Christian thoughts and ideas.
with the upcoming “Extra Mile” event, of course you will have some apprehensions. but with the natural talents the Lord has already bestowed upon you, and adding Him as being the driving factor, we both know it will be a huge success. i cant wait ! March will be here before you know it. you will do so well !
PS. with you being a Colts fan, i was wondering if you or your family have ever read former coach Tony Dungy’s autobiography; “Quiet Strength” ? this would be great reading for anybody; as it deals with far more than football !
may God bless you and this venture,,,, GO TEAM !
I’ve read both of Coach Dungy’s books and he seems like a very Godly and classy man. I’m really enjoying reading all the posts too- it really makes me think about what I do in a new way. I feel that I’m more effective when I can connect so closely with people and that we can better serve them when we know what they need. I’ve also noticed that the members here are quite diverse in background but are deep thinkers and very sincere in their faith.
I think we’re building a good team here
GO Team!
I agree Lauren,
even though we are all different we can still be a great team!
GO TEAM!
I hope to see you at a concert soon.
Hi.
Take your book to Stavanger and sign it forr my Lauren. I will love to learn more about Jesus and you
Love from Marita
I really love your idea!!!! Hope we get some copies in Kenya!

Lauren,
I wanted you to know that i pray for you every morning when I wake during my quiet time and at night before I go to bed.
I pray that God does God-sized things in this journey and that He teaches you and us so much more about who He is and what He wants to do in each of our lives.
I found an empty journal yesterday! I’ll be writing in it soon!
Blessings to you,
Alicia roark
This is great, Lauren, I sure would love to get your book and Audio. God Bless you, Lauren. Your music has blessed my heart in many ways.
Love in Christ,
Darla
Howdy Lauren,
Thanks for sharing with us(the Team) the introduction of your book here. I really liked how you did it, especially since it was very genuine and it shows. I like the three hiccups you had during reading but it was great seeing/listening to you. Great smile Lauren and you are truly blessed by God. Let me end this by saying Go Team, God Bless you & everyone else and thanks again.
Take care always,
Ronald
Lauren, listening to the introduction of your audio book was truly a treat for me. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with all of us. God bless you!
Love, Gail
i loved how you talked about using journaling as your therapy, i like to write poems about the lord it helps to vent
Lauren ,
I remember meeting you a few years ago in roanoke va . I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to talk to me that day . You are such a sweet person and I cannot wait for the finished product .
Christina
I love it! Can’t ’till it comes out!
Hi Lauren ,
I love your song ” songs in the night ” . I have the mp3. Thank you so much
Hi Lauren,
Thanks for your emails. They reminded us to check to see when ‘TheTalley Trio’ would be in Yukon, Ok. again. Wow! This coming weekend! Hope we can still get tickets. Oh, we love your song “Songs in the Night”.
God Bless
Lauren, How do I express without going on and on about your new “Songs In The Night”…I have ordered several times solo material etc. from the other family website as I love your music so much. I don’t want to take up too much space nor too much of your time and also some things you want to share just aren’t for the world so I will simply say I know without a doubt when I accidentally…nope there are no accidents with God…when I scrolled… that’s better into your new website it had to be divine direction of a mouse…just think God IS everywhere even in a computer mouse!
I will say I am in one of those valleys that the light at the other end has grown so dim that it is about to go out. I suffered an injury to my back and I am never out of pain…
I can deal with it better sometimes than others but it is always there for almost 2 years now and it gets hard sometimes…not to ask for sympathy but to help you know I have no family other than my husband. I was an only child and my parents died when I was a child and I could have no children so I want you to know I know what all alone is.
I think what I miss most is my music for music is and always has been my best friend. I pray I will sing again and the first song I long to sing is “Songs In The Night” Each night I have that song so it will play over and over and whenever I awake during the night it is your voice and those words of comfort and strength that I hear. Thank you for that song. Words can never express what I felt the first time I heard it. It became mine. Would you pray for me.? I just get so lonely sometimes. In the world today everyone is busy with me and mine and fail to see the wounded and weary in their way. I did say too much after all. Sorry…Just thanks for being my anchor for a while.
Hey Norma!
Sorry it took me so long to find your post. I was on a long trip last week and sang every day, and there just wasn’t a lot of time to get on here and look around.
Anyway, I’m so glad you found us here, and I’m very glad “Songs In The Night” already has meant so much to you. I remember hanging onto those words when I couldn’t see much light either. But I promise you, you are never alone. God sees every second of your pain and cares about it. Even better, He can use the tough things in our lives for our good and the benefit of others, and that’s the whole point of all this going on here. I know it may be hard to see that right now, but every day is another step toward a victory for you. We can choose to believe that and hold on to it. That’s what faith is- believing in something we can’t see. God has given us each a measure of faith, so we already have everything we need to get through whatever life throws at us- it’s all found in Him.
I know God will do great things in your life and you’re right, it’s no accident that you’re part of us here! Please keep us posted. God bless you-
Lauren
hey Lauren, I just signed up for March 20 & can’t wait. God has been doing some hummmm….I’d like to say strange maybe things in my life lately. I feel like Moses….I’m like ok Father, you sure you are talking to me? This idea of Yours is pretty far fetched. But, I can’t let it rest so I am plugging away at what He has asked me to do….& go figure…it’s write a book bout what He has done for me. I’ve finished it & sent it to copyright. But, now I have no idea what to do next. It’s a tiny book. It’s about depression & how the Lord brought me thru it. He’s laid it on my heart as a ..like a self help book. It’s small…only 40ish pgs. It’s going to be a paperback b/c I need it to be cheap & affordable. Gosh Lauren, I don’t know if you would even give me a little of your time, just to see what you think of what God is telling me to do w/it. Again, it’s like a crazy dream God’s put in my heart & I can’t shake it….gotta do this for Him. I know He can make it all happen…I just don’t have a clue as to how or where I go next. And, I can’t believe He keeps putting you in my life here & there. So, might as well ask, since I believe He said to. Anyhow…..I can’t wait til March 20. You & your family are a huge part of my life…I listen to yall everyday to work & home & on my ipod at work (when folks leave me alone!Ha!) Take care….hope to talk w/you. Telling stuff about myself that is not too pleasant & stuff that…well…is easier to keep quiet about is tough…but I always told the Lord, that if He could use my story to help just one person….that I’d tell it all….because He saved me & He loves me & that’s just amazing! Thanks for listening..can’t wait to see yall….Take care!
Sandy,
Have you been reading my journals?
You sound EXACTLY like me. When this whole project first started, I didn’t even really intend to write a book. I just wrote down the stuff I was learning so I wouldn’t forget it, and then God threw me a curve ball and told me to share it with people. The only choice I had was to follow Him and do what He said. Scary isn’t it?!
God always has crazy ideas (to us). His thoughts are not our thoughts and He dreams much bigger than we do. I think it’s AWESOME that you are stepping out and taking a risk to do what God has asked of you. That takes a lot of courage and faith and I’m very proud of you.
You have a few options to get it out in front of people. You can submit it to a traditional publisher, like Thomas Nelson, Word, Zondervan, etc. You can self-publish it online through a site like Lulu or Xulon Press (which is what I did). Or you can publish it online as an e-book (which I will also have available.) You can find information about all this online. Just start looking around. Don’t worry about the book’s length. If it’s what God gave you, then it’s right. Not everybody likes long books; sometimes the shortest, simplest messages are the most effective.
Sandy, you have an important message to deliver to people. I know it’s really hard to open up and share personal things with strangers, believe me. But it will make you a better, stronger person and Christian and you’ll see how much God uses that to bless others. Please update us regularly on how it’s coming along. I’ll look forward to giving you a hug at The Extra Mile and saying bravo in person!
Lauren
wow Lauren, thanks for writing me back. Yep, I’ll say I’m excited & skeptic at the same time. Guess my human side gets in the way. I just keep telling myself to keep plugging along even though this seems so crazy & far fetched. I know I would be long gone if it weren’t for what He did in my life, so it’s like I can’t turn my back & not do what I believe He’s telling me to. Thanks so much for your encouragement & info on where to head next. Can’t wait to see you in March. Who knows, I may even have a copy put together to show you & see what you think! You have encouraged me to pick up the pace & move forward! Take care…I’ll keep you posted! In His Love, Sandy
