“The Extra Mile” : Hear It
Hey y’all, I’m excited to share the first radio single from my new album with you and you’ll never guess what it’s called.
The Extra Mile! The Extra Mile
When I first heard this song, I thought, “Wow, what a great sequel to ‘The Broken Ones.’” But it’s even more significant to me than that because it’s the perfect theme for the mission God has laid on my heart and the message I’ve been sharing with you.
At some point, we’re all broken, even the ones who appear slick, glossy and perfect. But God uses us in our brokenness to reach out to other broken ones on their journeys. Our stories do not have to end with scars. Our weaknesses are the beginnings of truly seeing His power and love at work in us. Through His power working within us, we can see incredible things happen in our own lives and the lives of those we touch with His love.
I’ll be premiering this song live at the conference (now you know where the name of the event comes from!). The song will be available for downloading when the album is officially released. Until then, hope you enjoy it, and may it spark great things for you!

I LOVE this song. I heard it from your labels site. I agree it does kinda add a sequel to the “Broken Ones”. It just makes me more excitied about the new album. Can we start a countdown yet? How many days until I can hear the whole thing??? If patience is a virtue I just dont have enough of it. God is still working on me I guess
I love this song. I cannot wait for the new cd and book to come out. I have a good feeling that I will not want to put it down.

Neat!
Wow, that is a great song that should speak to every Christian. Thank you so much for sharing it with us in advance. The Lord is very much blessing you in this project to give Him the Glory.
O.K. so I have a question about the conference… is there a train station near by? umm Greyhound? looking for all options on how to get there with my 2 nieces
Just got through reading a book by Mitch Albom about faith. He gavr the eulogy for his childhood Rabbi. At the end his rabbi is in heaven and is talking to God and telling God all that he did on earth and asking God what he thought of what he did and God answers thats what you should have done. So many timesw we want to think when we do what we should we have done something special. Thats the problem with this world and a lot of christians. We only want to go the first mile and think we have done something. The extra miles are when we show God we love him.
by the way… love the song!
i love the song i needed that. i can really feel the spirit when you sing any song. i would love to get an album with your songs on it. that song was great. its a great song. i think you will go far with your singing, may god really bless you each time you go somewhere to sing for gods glory. we love you and your family.
wonderful song!!
Good song. Timely for the Haiti tragedy.
I absolutley LOVE this song!!! ~Thanks Lauren!
As I heard the broken ones, man this is hard, I realize more and more, thhat if I want Him to use me for His glory, He has to break me and remold me into the image of His Son. There is a lot He has to do. It hurts so bad at times, and He knows the pain we feel. When I last heard you sing the Broken Ones live, the Lord was doing a healing process inside, and I needed that song at that moment, you just don’t know how much. It’s not easy more me to type or speak how I felt or have been through, and I’m getting better each day, but even more see that without Him, I would never make it. Now, as I listen to your song, hope that it helps more people who have been down where I have been and have nowhere to goo but up. Thanks Lauren
Thanks a lot for sharing. It’s soothing to my soul …

Wow Lauren, you rock. What a great song reminds me of some things going on in my life right now. Keep up the good work.
Lauren. Great song. This teasing us with these songs is making me more excited for the final product. I’m counting down the days.
Hello Lauren. I wanted to see if my picture would show up.
Lauren you’re writing is great. As for your song its simply super . Wish you’d come to India sometime . It would be great if you’d come .
What a powerful message in the song, love it. Jesus tells us that without love we can’t be with the Father and He also expects us to love the unlovable too. God bless you Lauren for recording this song. Wish I could attend your event coming up in March. Who knows maybe the Lord will open a door for me to go, anything is possible to those who believe. Great song, great voice and great witness.
Lauren, I know you will acknowledge with a big smile the foundation and example your parents and grandparents have set to influence and inspire you to be a humble servant of Jesus Christ. ” Give ear, O my people, to my law; incline your ears to the works of my mouth … We will not hide then from their children to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength, and His wonderful works that he hath done … That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare then to their children; That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.” ( Psalm 78: 1,4,6,7 )
What a beautiful song Lauren! Can’t wait for the album to come out! Go team! Go Saints!!!!!! and Go Colts too!
Blessings,
Alicia Roark
Amen Lauren. Thanks God for His mercy. He has gone so many extra miles for me…:)
LOVE this song Extra Mile! WOW – what a message. Great lyrics and instrumentation to get a powerful message across! Very upbeat. Makes you want to go right out and help someone.
Also, the song “Songs in the Night” is beautiful. Can’t wait for your new cd.
I know it will be another dynamic album orchestrated by the hand of God.
Great song!!!!!!!!!! Waiting for the CD
I love the message in this song! May we all think more of others and less of ourselves; be more like Jesus on a moment to moment basis! =0)
Hi Lauren – I love the song – what a great message. Life seems so hard sometimes and we get so caught up in our own lives. We need the reminder to go the extra mile. Thanks. I love it when you sing – I can sing with you – of course – people actually want to listen to you – but I sing my heart out when I’m by myself in the car! Thanks so much for your ministry. It provides encouragement to me.

Great song Lauren,..Love is Jesus Christ,..and he went the extra mile for,..not just me,..but for all!!. For this we as believers can go the extra ,..telling the gospel to all.
John says it best,..Chapter 4: 7 Beloved let us love one another; for love is of God: and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God,..why?,..8: He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. this is why! 9: In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
thank you soooo much for letting us hear this song. I needed it right now because I have been feeling depressed alot lately. Doctors blame it on pregnacy well I dont I am just overwhelmed in this jurney. I used to not have to rely on YHVH(GOD) so I thought and Now I have to rely on him for everthing and it is becoming a challenge and quite frustating even though YHVH has never let me down but I feel as a mom I feel that I am supposed to doit myself and have always helped everyone else and now Ifeel like I cant even help myself. thank you for ministry and ability to Hear and do his word. It does make a difference.
This is such a wonderful song Lauren and now we know where you get the name The Extra Mile from-great single. The message you have been sharing with us all is truly a message from God. I am so very proud of you and hope you continue on the path you are on.
What a great song! I love it. Hopefully love will go the extra miles to Haiti…never playing it safe. Thanks for your beautiful heart. I always love hearing your voice.
Love,
Wendy
It is truly the sequel to “The Broken Ones”. Love it , Lauren !!!!!!!
Lauren, another fantastic song! I am a HUGE fan of The Broken Ones and truly like the upbeat message in this song as well. Love has got me through some really tough times. The title is perfect!
God Bless,
Gail

Hi Lauren,
Great song! Such a great message. I can’t wait to let Alexa hear it. She loves you and your music! Keep up the great work. Our prayers are with you.
I loooove this song!!!! Can’t wait to here it on the radio!!
Lauren, the other day someone told me that a person’s personal decision affects only the person who makes that decision. I strongly disagree ! Because of your personal decision to give your heart to Jesus Christ, everyone who hears your voice in song and listens to what you have to say is encouraged and blessed. Thank You.
Met you at Fifth Street Baptist Church in Levelland and felt such a depth of love from you and your voice. You are an inspiraton to me personally because I faced a trial in my health about two years ago and love the Broken Ones song. I bought the accompainment Cd and hope to find the courage to sing this one day. Love the new song and will buy the book. Check out the website I gave you…God Bless
I love “Songs in the night”, wish I could have heard it in Lubbock concert. We have been going through some rough times, spiritually and financially. You help lift us up with your beautiful voice. Hope we didn’t bug you too much at the Lubbock concert, we just wanted to let you know how uplifting your music is. I was raised on Gospel Music, many times the music at church is not enough to raise my spirit and help me make it through the week. Even though the church in Lubbock was very small, it was worth the 400 mile round trip. It is so sad that the world is looking for peace and joy but rejects the One who could give it to them. Bless you and your family for your ministry.
Lauren,
I just wanted to share a thought about the song “The Extra Mile” after listening to it quite a few times. I pretty much think it’s almost a combination of “The Broken Ones” and “True Love Has No Limits” from a little while back. All of them are great songs, and like someone else has already said, these little teasers make the countdown to the full cd even better! Praying for you & your famly as you sing & travel!
Love this song!!!!! Lauren what a blessing to write, sing, and do what you do to produce such a lovely sound, in all your songs. You have a “God Sent” voice. I like your spirit that is within you and your group. What a blessing, doing the work of the Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember the co-op meeting, and how you gave it your all on stage that night in Andalusia. You are a very high spirited young lady, and very pretty I might add. Are you interested in getting married? What are your ambitions and goals?
WOW!!! ANOTHER GREAT SONG!! I LOVE IT!!!! ……KEEP IT UP!
I got my ticket just now!!
can’t wait!
wow Lauren, I just now got to listen to Songs in the Night….wow. Have I ever been there & clung only to what I knew was true in Him, knowing He was there, but surely not feeling Him or even seeing a light. Thanks Lauren, it helps other folks know it’s ok to be there, & that He is there for real…even though we don’t feel Him. And, that it’s ok to talk about it. And a reminder to cling to Him w/all we have. I’ve surely been in that dark place & praise God, He is why I’m alive now! I knew you were real! Thanks for sharing! You are & will bless even more people every day! See you soon…Can’t wait til next month. Sandy
I believe that you may have the purest voice I have ever heard. If your commitment to Christ is 1/10th of your talent, you are a bright light house of the gospel.
WOW, AWESOME, pretty much sus it up…….Such a powerful and true song……..LOVE IT…
Such a heartfelt song…a great job Lauren!
