Anybody else having difficulty reading the white text on the light blue background? VERY hard for me. Lauren I like ot hear your thoughts you’re sharing . . . would you consider a color change for better contrast? Thanks – - Happy New Year
Actually the website is white text on black background. If you are seeing a light blue background, it is because your web browser is out of date. If you use Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera, or Internet Explorer 8, you will see the site as designed–white text on black background. The only other person with this issue (out of nearly 10,000) switched to Firefox and resolved the problem.
Thanks – - will try
Hi, I had the same problem, but If you just highlight the letters you can read them
fine! Happy New Year!
Lisa
I can’t wait to read your book and hear your new album. Is this premire designed for women, since you and your mother are hosting it?
Mark,
You’re more than welcome to join us! Hope to see you there.
Lauren
I see everything clearly…..well as clearly as I can while under the influence of cold medicine.
Lauren ! 9.30 in the AM!!!
This new part of your ministry sounds so exciting! I’m thrilled for you! Can’t wait for the new CD to come out! Your music always lifts my spirit.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I recently spoke with Bobbie at your office and ordered some accompaniment tracks. Have always loved your Mother’s low voice, your dad’s high voice and ear for writing great songs and YOU my dear are just growing and growing in your range. I love hearing you sing His Life for Mine and it’s one of the ones I ordered. I am blessed every time I hear you sing that song. Tell you Dad if he ever wants to hire a Bass to give me a call in Tuscaloosa.
HMM, I wonder how long of a drive that would be from Massachusetts… That’s an incredible rate!!! For the hotel too!!!
916 miles from Boston–14 driving hours according to Google
Well if you don’t want to drive that far, its still early enough that you might find a good airfare. Hope you’ll join us- its gonna be AWESOME
ok 14 hours…hmm, well Lauren It will be (so far) three of us traveling so it would probably be more economical to drive. Well maybe not… we have been planning this since.. LAST YEAR ok so going on 8.5 hours. We are very excited! I think Ill look up airfair now… thanks for the tip
Can’t wait!
As a youth sunday school teacher I have always tried to instill a second mile mindset in my youth. Anyone can stumble down the first mile. It takes someone sold out to Christ to go the second, third, fouth and so on down the road.
If you’d like to bring your youth group we’d love to have y’all! Shoot us an email with the number of kids and we’ll give you info on group rates.
you are a very sweet person god bless you geri
Lauren,
You have encouraged me in the past, and every time I hear you now I think of Isaiah 6:8 – ” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send ? And who will go for us ? And I { Lauren } said, Here am I. Send me ! ‘ ” I pray the Lord helps you conceive many more ideas and projects to help and encourage people. Shine on Lauren !!!!
Hi Lauren, Just want to wish you a Happy New Year. May God continue to guide you in the path that He has ordained for you. “Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed”(prov 16:3) God bless you..
Heard the Talleys last night New Years Eve at Shady Maple, in PA. We became a fan. Great music, vocals and testimony. They really lifted up our souls as they lifted up the Lord Jesus Christ. Mountain Mover made my feet move all over the place and my liver quivered! lol
Even bought a cd
I am thrilled to see the direction you are taking your ministry. Your music has been an inspiration to me. I hope to hear your teaching some day soon, but right now I am serving the Lord in Market Harborough, England. May God bless you in this new ministry and continue to bless your music ministry.
I really hope I can go. I know it will be awesome if the name “Talley” is in it
.
Lauren –
Totally off subject here, but a year or so ago when you were doing a concert in Southern Ohio, I slipped to you a photo of my 22-year-old son who had been dealing with depression since he was 14. He was hospitalized and has been put on every medication imaginable since and has only gotten worse. A week before Christmas, a near fatal event caused him to be hospitalized again, and they determined he is bipolar depressive, which means a whole different type of drug should have been given and the ones he’s been taken have made him WORSE. I am thankful for the new diagnosis, but he is so down on his life and himself right now, that I’m scared for him. He sees himself as absolutely worthless and he sees his life as a hopeless black hole in which he’ll never have a place. I’m so anxious to read your book. I don’t know what I’ll learn from you, but perhaps my son and I BOTH can discover more about God’s will for us. I am CONVINCED that he has a purpose for Steve. There is so much healing to be done, and I even doubt myself, which disappoints me in myself. I know God can do anything, but I’m afraid my son will never find that peace and happiness. Could you continue to pray for him? He is so bright – his high school classmates voted him the most likely to find a cure for cancer and most likely to succeed. It breaks my heart to see him this way.
I can’t thank you enough.
Terri
Terri, my heart goes out to you. while i am not in your situation, and cant fully feel your pain, doubt, and worry, i do know that no circumstance is hopeless. yes, like you, i have gone through periods of doubt, and yes, i then get disappointed too, when my immediate reactions are not of the highest fiber. but God loves us, forgives us, and will give us the strength we need to confront and battle whatever is thrown our way; IF we pray for his grace, guidance and direction. about 2 weeks before passing on, with terminal cancer, Jimmy Valvano, a basketball coach for NC State some years ago, gave a tremendous speech about “never giving up”; even in the face of adversity.
right now, yes, you are facing adversity. but NOTHING in the Lord is impossible… EVER! pray, and ask God for His strength. you WILL receive what you need; that is God’s promise to us. and one day, when you and your son have successfully fought back to climb this steep mountain, just think of how wonderful you both will feel, with the power of God as your rod and staff. Terri, with the Lord’s help, you can do this. He WANTS you to ask for help, and like i said, i have total faith He will answer your prayers.
God has a plan for everybody, and victory over this vicious problem will be the start for you and your son.
I will pray for both of you, and i’m sure there will also be many more prayers offered up for your final victory. You can do it!
With God’s love,
Mike
Terri, i’m still praying for you and your son ~ may God bless!
Terri,
My heart goes out to you and Steve. While I’m certainly not a counselor, I can tell you with absolute assurance that God DOES have a great plan for both of your lives and you are not meant to live in defeat. If you and Steve both know the Lord, He will give you the grace to deal with whatever challenges are in your life. The Bible says that every man is given the measure of faith- God has equipped each Christian with the faith we need, but its up to us to activate it! I have written a lot about dealing with discouragement and heartache in the book and I hope those same lessons help you like they helped me. God bless!
P.S. If you’re able to go “The Extra Mile” with us, we’re going to be talking a lot more about this then
Hi Lauren ~
YES! This sounds great! Thank you! Even though its over 8 hours to drive to Pigeon Forge, it didnt take much discussion before my wife Margaret and I decided to sign up for the “Extra Mile” ministry weekend in Pigeon Forge.
6 months ago, i NEVER would have done this. but now, I’m convinced something big is going to go down here this coming March. Its pretty evident that the Lord has moved your family to “go the extra mile”, and make this event happen for Him. I know i am excited, and I just cant wait to see and talk with you all again; then be led to dig deeper and go farther as i learn more about the Lord through your Christian ministry.
and DUH! I havent even mentioned yet about once more enjoying your tremendous musical performances! LOL !
It’s not practical to share everything i would like to, here in Lauren’s new website. but i do want to tell everybody that a few months ago, The Talley Trio became the major player in bringing me back to the Lord thru their musical Christian witness, and also thru their silent faith that shines brightly from their personal actions ~
I have been blessed by God to have had the Trio in my life. Thanks again, Lauren ! cya soon!
your friend, Mike
Spike,
I’m so glad you and Margaret are coming! It’s going to be great!
Hi Lauren, First of all, a very happy and blessed new year. May Jesus bless you in a special way this year. My name is Suzanne. I’m your age (26) and the only child too. I play the piano and sing at our church with my mum and dad too (but not professionally). I live in London, UK. Your songs and singing have been something that i can truly relate to. It’s so good to see the way God is using you. Would be great if you could come to England, so I can meet and hear you. I know you must be real busy, but if you can, keep in touch. God bless Suzanne
Lauren, I have always enjoyed your music and I am looking forward to learning more about your testimony. I enjoyed your interview with Mickey Bell, and your Songs in the Night song. God bless your ministry!
Lauren, I saw you the other night for the first time at Shady Maple. I bought the tickets for the Couriers but became touched deeply through your music. I was in a difficult marriage for a long time and it has affected my whole family. I immediately came home and signed up my daughter and I for the Extra Mile..I think it will be great for both of us, but especially for my daughter (age 25) who is really struggling. I think it will be good for her to hear your message.
Happy New Year
Dawn,
Reading your post is overwhelming and encouraging all at once. It gets me so fired up to do what I’m doing! It also is a little overwhelming to think about how much this message means. I’ll admit, I’m kind of nervous about speaking and teaching, since I’m completely new at that, but I really believe God’s given me a message to deliver and I hope I can encourage you as much as other people did me when I was going through hard times. Can’t wait to see you there!
Lauren
I saw those dollar signs in yours and your Dad’s eyes last year at Brenda Robinson’s Annual Conference here in Anniston. I predicted then that within a year, you’d have a book, and would be trying your hand at copying such an event. I just hope and pray that you’re doing this for the right reason. I’ve witnessed you in action for the last few years at NQC, and other places. I’m a little skeptical. Hope you prove me wrong. You have the makings of a great Woman of God. Please don’t blow it. Oh, yeah- Remember that a little sincere humility goes a long ways.
Hey Jessie,
Thank you for your post. I felt I should respond to your concerns and will address them as clearly and respectfully as I can.
When we were guests at Brenda Robinson’s conference in February 2009, my book was already written. Brenda read the first draft in November 2008 while we were working together on their recording. She’s been a spiritual mentor to me and a very dear friend. She’s also given me a lot of good advice on the book and the Extra Mile event, to which she has granted her blessing and encouragement. It is definitely not my intention to copy her in any way. I certainly don’t have the experience as a Bible teacher and scholar that she does, but God’s teaching me and I do feel He’s given me something to share.
I went through some very difficult personal struggles a couple of years ago and for about three months I wrote my prayers, Bible studies and thoughts down in notebooks. God taught me a lot during that time and when that experience was over, God led me to share those writings with other people to help them deal with pain as well. That’s where the book, album and this website are coming from. It’s been a little scary for me to open up that much to people, since that’s really not my personality, but I invite you to stick around and truly see my heart. I would ask you to not judge a book by its cover (so to speak) but give it a chance and see what it’s all about. If you choose not to do that or decide it’s not for you, no hard feelings.
I do hope we get a chance to meet and have a real conversation. In the meantime, you’re welcome back here anytime. God bless!
Lauren
Lauren,
Thanks for your response, and please know that I am taking you at your word. You and your family will continue to be in my prayers.
I mean it, though – You truly have what it takes to be a great influence on young women. PLEASE be mindful of that. I pray that you ’stick with the stuff’. God can do great things through you, if you just keep ‘you’ in check.
Heart… That’s what I guess I wasn’t seeing in you. I think I’m beginning to see it some now. Oh, I hope so. Thats a good thing. I applaud you for becoming ‘real’. Keep up the good work.
Jessie in Alabama
To read all the posts here, my, this has certainly become an interesting discussion.
I think one reason you haven’t seen much of my heart up to this point is because it’s been a growing process for me to learn how to show it and feel comfortable doing that. I’ve always had kind of a “guarded” personality, and I don’t really show much emotion unless it’s somebody I know really well and feel comfortable with. But God’s been teaching me that in order for me to be able to reach as many people as I can, they have to be able to see my heart and I’m still figuring all that out
Anyway, thanks for your response and I hope we can get to know each other better.
Lauren, cast your personal fears aside! you may be concerned about the public’s perception, but trust me girl, LAUREN TALLEY HAS HEART! most certainly, your family as a whole has it too! you all have care and compassion. it is passed down, and it just shows!
but it’s you that needs convinced. well, it is soooo evident in the way you sing for the Lord. you sing your praises with love, with peace, and with a real joy. your voice ripples with a beautiful passion, and with a bountiful emotion. yes, some say you have the voice of an angel, and i agree, but at the same time, your personality also brings the power of a Christian warrior to the arena of salvation. “heart” is your middle name and people ARE seeing it ~ myself, i see it while watching your videos in YouTube, and i feel it when i listen to some of your CD’s while in the car. and i have personally seen it when my wife and i met you twice previously.
its kinda like Dorothy wearing those ruby red slippers in the Wizard of Oz. she always had the ability to go home, she just didnt realize it. so it is with you. what you may think is”guarded” is actually a gift from God just waiting to be opened completely. and if you, or anybody else still has doubts, go to YouTube and watch you and your family perform “His Life for Mine” ~now that is real HEART~ Lauren, i will be praying for you, your family, and the event! YOU GO, GIRL !
Cya at “the Extra Mile” !
Mike
I TRY TO KEEP MY FOOT OUT OF MY MOUTH,BUT WHEN I SEE SOMETHING SO WRONG I HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING! AND JESSIE YOU ARE SO WRONG , I HAVE KNOWN THE TALLEY’S FOR A YEAR I HAVE BEEN TO AS MANY CONCERTS AS I CAN GET TO AND THANK THE LORD THAT HAS BEEN A LOT. EACH TIME I HAVE SEEN THEM, THEY ARE THE SAME, GIVING GOD THE GLORY! PUTTING HIM ABOVE ALL THINGS.MAKING SURE NO ONE LEAVES ANY PLACE THEY ARE, WITHOUT HEARING HOW TO BE SAVED AND GIVING THEM THE CHANCE RIGHT THEN AND THERE TO GET SAVED.AND AS FOR THE DOLLAR SIGNS IF THEY WERE IN THIS JUST FOR THE MONEY, THEY WOULD NOT GO TO ALL THESE DIFFERENT CHURCHES AND JUST TAKE A LOVE OFFEREND.BUT REMEMBER THEY HAVE BILLS TO PAY JUST LIKE US, AND THEN ON HUMILITY . ROGER DEBRA AND LAUREN ARE THE MOST HUMBLE PEOPLE I HAVE EVER MET. IF YOU SPEND ANY TIME WITH THEM YOU WILL, LIKE I HAVE, SEE THAT THESE GOOD FOLKS ARE THE REAL DEAL.! WE ARE TO LIFT EACH OTHER UP, NOT PUSH DOWN.
LOVE IN CHRIST
LOUISE
LAUREN! YOU DON;T HAVE TO PROVE ANYONE RIGHT OR WRONG, THE LORD IS GUILDING YOU IN THE WAY HE WANTS YOU TO GO! YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE MY PRAYERS AND MY SUPPORT ALL THE WAY.
IN MY HEART
LOUISE
Jessie,
I’ve been thinking of your post for almost a week, and I think that Lauren already addressed it well — but I had some unsolicited comments I want to add, beyond just what applies to Lauren.
I think we’re used to seeing people of the world that we may admire to some extent suddenly turn out to be far from admirable. The risk is that we become cynical and then come to expect all good people to let us down. Whether it’s Lauren Talley or Rick Warren or Dave Ramsey or Billy Graham, we’re tempted to look at their success and question whether their motives are spiritual or worldly, and it doesn’t help that some famous tele-evangelists in the past turned out to be caught up in the greed. But if we fall to that temptation and decide that all successful Christians are dishonest to their faith, then not only do we tear down Satan’s biggest opponents for him (along with the percentage that might be disingenuous), but we also cheat ourselves out the message that these people are carrying.
In the end, I’m just glad that it isn’t my job to look into these people’s hearts and judge which are sincere and which aren’t. I’ll leave that to God, and I’ll accept all of them as Christian servants — and appreciate the work they’re doing and the message they’re spreading. And if I discover that one of them has fooled me, well, I’d rather be fooled by one than to doubt all of the others that are sincere.
Lauren, your music in particular has led me to a radio station that has been very influential in my family’s life, and my son and I are looking forward to hearing you in concert in Houston at the end of January.
First off I love the Talley’s and the music they uplift the Lord with what a blessing. I really enjoyed watching the Sevier Heights Celebration DVD just WOW incredible!
Do you think there would be any chance you and the Talley Trio would come west of the divide to Spokane, Wa. or Cour De Lane Id, or maybe Kalispel Mt. and or maybe Missoula Mt? and do a concert or two. We do not have the ability to get back east to any of your shows and I did not see any dates for over on the the west side of the the US.
Blessings and keep up the wonderful music ministry we need it.
Lee
Hey Lee,
The reason we haven’t been out to your neck of the woods is…no one’s booked us!
The only date out west that I know of is in Nampa, Idaho. The date escapes me, but if you’ll check http://www.talleytrio.com, it’s probably there. Thanks!
Lauren, I am glad I found this web site. My wife and I are possibly attending your concert in Lubbock Texas on the 25th of January. Can you tell me if there will be any charge for that concert and if so how much, Also do you know the time? We live two hours away to the south. We both love your trio. Your music is beautiful and you all have some of the tightest harmony I have ever heard. Thanks for the inspiration. /ribert
You know what, I don’t have much information about that concert. If you’ll click on http://www.talleytrio.com and look on the tour schedule page, all the concert info should be listed along with a phone number that you can call for ticket information, if tickets are being sold.
Hello Lauren,
Today I purchased a ticket for myself to attend The Extra Mile: Dig Deeper, Go Farther and the two nights at the Ramada. When I first heard about this from your email-I was debating should I go or not. You see I live in Massachusetts and know it is about a 15 hour drive for me. I don’t like flying, so I decided I will come and drive down on that Friday and come home on Sunday. But I will be there all day on Saturday and can’t wait until then.
I personally want to thank you and your family for all the good you do. Your music has touched me and helps me try to keep in focus what life is all about. I had a very bad thing happen to me a long time ago but am still living and enjoying life. Some day I would like to tell you how you have helped me lately. Again thanks for everything-see you in March.
Thank you for your inspiration Lauren. I also want to wish you a wonderful and Happy New Year and same to your parents-Debra and Roger. God Bless the Talley Trio.
Take care,
Ronald
Oh wow, I am so glad you’re coming! I will look forward to hearing your story
Hello Lauren,
I am glad too that I am coming-it is very nice to have positive things to look forward to in life and this definitely is one of those. Yes, I would like to tell you my story because I am a survivor from what happened to me. I didn’t want to just put it on here since I don’t think that is the place to do it but to be able to do it in person in front of you and your family or anyone there-that I can do because I have come so far back to the land of the living. I am now 44 and it happened when I was 21, it permanently changed how I lived my life. In March I look forward to talking about it and how your music has helped me very much in enjoying life to the best that I can. One song almost always brings me to tears but they are actually happy tears.
I liked the video you put up by the way-very well done on that and when I heard guys are welcome, that basically made me say I am going to do it. At the local hotel I work at here in Massachusetts-they are nice enough to let me have that Friday off to drive there. Already off Saturday and Sunday every week so it is a go.
Very happy you and your family are doing this in March-it is going to be lots of fun and helpful to so many including me. Thanks Lauren and God bless you today & every day.
Take care,
Ronald
